Umpire Attacked After Dickinson Softball Game, Buffalo Man Charged with Assault

I would like to address the Boards at this meeting regarding a recent assault on an official (softball umpire) that occurred down in the Southern Tier area this month.  Legislation has been drafted making it illegal to harass an official (class B Misdemeanor) punishable by up to a $500.00 fine and up to 6 months in jail.  I will have copies of the Bills drafted in both the Senate and Assembly along with them on a stick so, if you wish, you could share electronically.  I also have other information on how to start a campaign in your area to get this Law passed.  We need to strike while the iron is hot before the next new shiny object takes the focus away from the Legislators.
