This prestigious award is presented annually at the NYSCOS State Meeting to recognize an outstanding soccer official who exemplifies excellence in officiating, leadership, and service to the game.
The award recipient will be our honored guest at the State Meeting, with travel expenses reimbursed as necessary.

To be eligible for the Referee of the Year Award, a nominee must:
Have been a NYSCOS member for at least five years.
Be recognized by peers and high school coaches as an outstanding interscholastic soccer official for a minimum of five years.
Demonstrate unquestionable character and leadership qualities, both on and off the field.
Have been selected to referee Sectional, Regional, and/or State Championship matches during their officiating career.
Be actively involved as a NYSCOS official during the year in which the award is presented.

The Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to a NYSCOS member who has contributed to the organization above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrating exceptional dedication, leadership, and service to the officiating community.
Each local chapter may nominate one individual to be considered by the NYSCOS Awards Committee.
