NYSCOS Hub Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 17, 2026

Our Commitment

NYSCOS wants the Hub to be usable by officials, local boards, schools, and members of the public, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing operational responsibility as the Hub is built and improved. NYSCOS uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as its accessibility target.

Current Status

The Hub is under active development and has not yet completed a formal evaluation for full WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance. NYSCOS is working to use semantic structure, descriptive links, text labels, alternative text, keyboard access, visible focus, and readable color contrast, and to combine automated checks with manual review as the Hub changes. This statement is not a claim of certification or full conformance.

Known Limitations

Some historical, scanned, PDF, or Word documents may not yet be fully accessible. Some features and documents are provided through third-party services that NYSCOS does not directly control. NYSCOS will work with a user who encounters a barrier to provide the information, service, or functionality in an accessible alternative.

Requesting Help or an Accommodation

If you cannot access part of the Hub, need a document in another format, or need an accommodation to use a NYSCOS service, email chris.crocker@nyscos.org with the subject "NYSCOS Hub Accessibility Request."

Please include the page or document, what you were trying to do, the barrier you encountered, and the alternative you need. Browser or assistive-technology details are helpful but optional. NYSCOS will review the request and work with you to provide access or an effective alternative. You may also use the NYSCOS contact page if email is not workable for you.

Ongoing Improvements

The Hub will continue to be reviewed as content, forms, member tools, and local board features are added. NYSCOS will update this statement when its target, known limitations, assessment status, or contact process materially changes. Feedback from users helps prioritize fixes and improvements.
